  7. Take 1 cup rolled oats
  8. Make ready 1/4 cup nuts - chopped/ flaked
  9. Take Generous pinch sea salt
  10. Take 4 tbsp maple syrup
  11. Prepare Optional: 1/2 tsp spice of choice

It is in fact naturally sweetened with rice syrup, but you can also opt for malt if you are not intolerant to gluten or maple syrup. This vegan crumble topping recipe is really only vegan because I use margarine instead of butter. If you want to make it non-vegan you can use whatever butter you have on hand. I can attest that it is delicious with margarine!

Steps to make Healthy fruit crumble - vegan:
  1. Preheat oven to 175 C
  2. Chop the fruit into chunks as necessary. Lay in a flat ovenproof dish. Add the water and any other flavouring eg rose water.
  3. Mix the topping ingredients together.
  4. Spoon the topping over the fruit.
  5. Bake until crumble is golden brown and fragrant - about 25 mins.
